For several years God has been taking me through a difficult time. In the midst of this trial, I have been trying to understand His purposes and have been waiting for Him to intervene on my behalf and on behalf of Working Together. I don't know when God will answer my prayers, but my experiences have assured me that technology will be the most likely tool of our ultimate destruction. Right now our lives are filled with seemingly exciting innovations. These new treasures quickly become necessities. The effect of computers in our lives is both good and bad. No matter how much we may want to change things, we cannot stop the effects technology brings into our lives.
As an American, I want the best for my country. As a Christian, I want the best for my family. I have been trying to understand the priorities of my country's leaders, been distressed by citizen groups and businesses who force their will on us all through deceptive channels, and been grieved by a media whose bias is destroying our national foundations and collective futures. These unfolding changes in America make me feel like I am standing on a decomposing bridge -- and it won't be long until America won't be able to bear the weight of our problems and will crash to the ground, destroyed.
Election years are especially difficult.
Having been a welfare recipient for more years than I ever wanted to be, the idea that Universal Health Care is achievable is ridiculous. I know it sounds like a wonderful, benevolent, caring thing for Americans to have, but it requires an enormous tax base. The increasing costs of medical interventios will lead to government-sponsored euthanasia, not unlimited care. We are already struggling under the unexpected burdens of natural disasters, unemployment and other changes in business, illiteracy, increasing violence, crime, addictions, and poverty. How will we meet the immense financial needs of UNIVERSAL Health Care -- especially if we provide all Americans with the same coverage Congress receives? This is an unrealistic goal.
Medical care is only one aspect of poverty. Food, shelter, utilities, household goods, living needs, transportation, employment, childcare, education, and personal expenses are also involved in this process of financial involvement. It is important for human beings to have a place to seek help, but the government is not the best provider of this aid. We must find a better way to meet the needs of poverty, including medical care.
Working Together isn't meant to solve the problems of America. It's only goal is to build a safe place for Christians as our world disintegrates spiritually, financially, and governmentally. As we head toward the realities of prophecy, our needs will also increase. The violence that exists in countries like Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan -- and Israel -- will begin to exist within our borders. We need to begin preparing places and options for ourselves.
I don't know when or how God will build Working Together into the business that it is meant to be, but I hope that He will bless it soon. It is more and more difficult to watch America become a land filled with things that God does not honor and has no responsibility to protect. Christians have always know that the day would come when we would have to separate from the world. I think that time is now. DM
Freedom, what is it?
To understand what God wants me to do through Working Together, I have been trying to discover what America is becoming, how it will exist in the years to come, and how long it might take for prophecy to become a reality. Working Together is not the only answer to what lies ahead for Christian populations, but as the years progress, I can see that Working Together is God's provision for the times we live in, for the changes that are decreed in prophecy, and for the needs of the remnant that will exist. As Working Together grows into the future, I know God will provide whatever we NEED. I also know that what we need may not come in the package we want it to come in.
America is a special country in the world. It is powerful, blessed, and able to force others into submission. As long as we are a GOOD country, this is a position that benefits the world, and ourselves. But if we lose our submission to the things of God, a future leader will have access to all the power we currently garner as a protection for ourselves and others. A leader with ungodly intentions will take away the freedoms we have always known. Being "good" is not enough, our strength is in our godliness.
In this election year I hear emphatic cries for socialized medicine, the eradication of poverty, an end to every war, a balanced budget, ethical leadership, and the escalation of security within and around our country. We are struggling with our own problems and trying to maintain our posture of leadership in the world. Those who do not know or understand the importance of godliness want moral leaders without a foundation of biblical faith. Many want the government to pay for what they cannot. We have people who want to control global populations with abortion while they protest legitimate military efforts to end brutal tyrannies. As the world grows smaller because of our communications abilities, cries for our aid increase, and anger rages when we cannot be the solution to every need. Our heart of compassion is being stretched beyond its ability to intervene. We are being forced to make very difficult choices.
America is growing fearful because we have lost our connection with God. Greed is commanding our hearts, displacing love and honesty and every goodness that made us strong. We cannot be America without God. The effects of this loss are beginning to appear in greater detail...and fulfill the prophecies of God.
We have to find a way through this swamp of ideologies. May the God that I believe in show us the way.
