2012 - Starting Again

8 January 2012
I wrote a long message on my main page, so I considered that might be enough. But it isn't a blog entry...so here I am. :-) I hope I can find something to talk about!

The recession has changed budgets everywhere. Mine was not that big before the country started suffering, now it's worse. I keep trying to decide if subscribing to the local newspaper is a luxury or a necessity. I use the ads to save more money than I pay for it. I can't read all the information it provides every day. My ongoing study of End Time topics reflected in daily news clippings has threatened to take over my small apartment, but where else can I get such a wide variety of information without having to use up all my ink supplies to print it? Still, the cost is a problem. I know I'm not the only one facing these decisions, but I don't know how long I can keep going. Must I depend only on the Internet for information?

15 January 2012
Here I am again...finally. I almost decided not to write any more blogs, just write personal messages on my mainpage. I will have to figure out the time commitment and the best place to add my creative messages. :-) We all seem to need to express ourselves.

I reapplied for food stamps over the weekend...online. I didn't get a correct/full record of my answers, as I expected to because the information stated that I could print the application and take it into the office, so I am a bit miffed. I will have to get a copy from the people in the food stamp office...It is important. I would have printed the separate sections on the way if I had known there would only be a receipt or a summary at the end. This is the government. As the online process takes over our lives, we will see more and more processes going through the Internet.

I was also struck (again) by the realization that this will mean less need for welfare workers, a reduction in the workforce, more people out of a job. We have seen the older workers lose their retirements to being replaced by younger and cheaper workers, and the computer (in its various forms) is going to reduce the need for labor even more. I have been trying to imagine what we will do...how it will affect our country, and what Christians can do to prepare for these changes. The Bible doesn't tell us the details, but it describes hunger, homelessness, and violence as signs of the End Times. With the breakdown of family connections, and the loss of a moral foundation, America (and the rest of the world) is headed into a really bad future. Our economy is on the brink of failing, and a global recession/depression is possible. The effects of technology will make all of this worse, as will the effect of loss of food and air and water in the environment. If America loses its military advantage, it will be powerless to overcome people who are much worse than us and more intent on destroying us.

Religious persecution in America is becoming more and more openly implemented, encouraged by a liberal media and a vindictive gay community. The great foundations of our country are being destroyed, slowly, methodically, and completely. Gun control is more than a community safety issue, it is a personal protection issue. Education is a place where government theologies are replacing family rights. Medical choices are forced on some (abortion) and used as a spiritual weapon to incarcerate others (the right to refuse a doctor's care in favor of prayer). We are being destroyed from within as much as from without.

Christians will have to make decisions about the future now. It will take time to do whatever we can to protect ourselves and our loved ones for as long as possible. I don't know what God has planned for us, but I hope to see some changes in our focus soon. When this generation is gone, will there be many to keep the Word flowing for the children who are raised by the State? If the Internet becomes the only source of information, it will be controlled by those who hate God and Christians and Jews. I hope to find some way to preserve and protect what matters most. Pray that God will help us now...soon...fast.

Inmate News

Slowly I am beginning to catch up with my webpages. I have published the latest newsletter for Inmate News and put a link on the firstpage. The design will change again for the next issue, but a format is beginning to take place. I long for the funds to create and expand a newsprint edition, but that will happen eventually.

I hope to create worm projects everywhere, and the newsprint is a good source of food for worm bins. That will take care of one recycling issue. Making the land fertile for greater crops is critical to God's providing for us. The Bible tells us that He can make one field increase and another field fail...we want to be on the side of provision.

If you know any inmates, inmate families, or non-profits that deal with inmate issues, please have them order Inmate News. There are online links to PayPal available. If you want to order more than one year, just add to each order. [ 20 orders for one inmate would equal 20 years...that's only $100! :-) ] Someone must be able to afford that!

Advertising and one-page articles by non-profits that deal with inmate issues are really important. Our payment options are not fully established yet, so the prices are negotiable. Let me know if you are interested. (office@work2gather.us)

Inmates are encouraged to submit a 3" x 3" comic/cartoon about inmate issues and will receive $15 payment when published. If we get a big response, we can publish a separate booklet and figure out a fair income for the artists.

Written articles are encouraged, too. We want inmates to be part of the helping process. Ex-inmates can talk about their release process and the problems they faced in becoming self-sufficient. New inmates can talk about how to make prisons better. Families of inmates can share their struggles when someone they love is in prison. We need to have a common place to meet. Inmate News is trying to provide that place.

In other parts of Working Together...

Action Prayer has a new submission form, and I have been putting prayers on the listing page to seek God and decide how to best organize it. When there are more prayers from different regions, each region will have their own listing page.

A printable form for International CORD is in process. I have been trying to create a format that reflects the amount of information needed. There are a lot of churches without webpages. This could be their link to the internet. I hope so. We need to get the information listed and areas better organized.

I was finally able to read my Bible again...this morning. I read the first three chapters in Proverbs. I miss my Bible reading. I hope God deals with the situation/s that have hampered me. I long for the protection of my family and all of God's people. We are going to face some pretty rough times.

What Government Is Becoming

As I watch my own country head into a socialistic format, and remember my own experiences within the Welfare system, I am deeply frightened. Is it the loss of God's place in our society that has moved us into these directions? I have to believe that is true. Many of the decisions being made, many of the biased media reports I have seen, and all of the increasing hatred of all things that have to do with God, are signs of God's absence from our lives. It means we have lost His protections, His blessings, His bounties, and that the End Times will include the demise of America.

Health care is one of the major problems we face. To care for the poorest and the neediest of our citizens is a very different program than to have ALL Americans signed up for government care. We cannot afford to have all Americans "insured" by the government. The government doesn't take care of the poor citizens they are already responsible for. Why does anyone expect they will do a better job of caring for all Americans?! Their solution is to take away from Medicare and extend the age of retirement for Social Security. What does that tell you about our financial situation as a country? It says we cannot afford these directions.

When I read about small banks going under, I have to wonder why. If we can LOAN money to the largest banks, why are the small banks left to die? There is something wrong with this thought process.

I watched an alarming video at a link I happened upon, about the threat of terrorists against our country. http://cloudvideos.tangle.com/c41d1763008601510d3e9a679de49839.flv - this should lead you to it. It makes real the thought of hatred and violence against our country. . . and how vulnerable we are. In my mind, God's Hand of Protection left America on 9/11. I don't know what the future holds for America, but I don't think it will be good, and I think we need to start preparing for it as Christians.

Our food supplies are being altered, and we don't have any idea what long-term effect that will have. This problem is becoming a global issue. Along with droughts, natural disasters, and wars, the ability to provide for ourselves is becoming more and more threatened. Urban communities are more vulnerable to the effects of tampering with our food supplies, but a lack of seeds to grow and altered animal stocks will affect our survival.

Technology is taking over the body and taking away our ability to protect ourselves, to have our lives, to be what we want to be. Very soon we will be "watched" and "controlled" by the technology that is being developed now. As the government increasingly takes over every aspect of our lives, we will cease to be free.

And what about the criminals we have to deal with? What will it be like if they control everything in America and the world. Drugs are a battlefield, and we are losing the war. Now they are making it legal to grow and smoke marijuana, which incapacitates a person's ability to think rationally, much like alcohol and other drugs that affect the brain.

The only thing we know about the Antichrist is that he hates God...and God's people. He will move to destroy us if we don't submit to the "mark of the beast." That moment does not seem very far away.

My efforts to create Working Together are not the answer to world poverty or Christian survival. They are just a small effort to prepare for the events the Bible predicts will happen. There are no guarantees we will survive, only the fact that we will die, be judged, and go to heaven or the lake of fire. Hunger, thirst, heat, the sun's light...these are what the Tribulation guarantees for Christians. Working Together can only hope to salvage some of our people as we head into the time when the Antichrist will seek to kill us. If God does not provide for Working Together, it means there is no hope for our time, the end will be upon us more quickly than we believe.
